off-mounted
An arrangement in which the secondary surveillance radar (SSR) aerial is not mounted on the primary radar but on its own turning gear. It is thus possible to either synchronize the rotation of the SSR aerial with that of the primary radar or to rotate it at some other predetermined rate.
